The grape is marked by strong spice and floral notes. Muscat vines seem to prefer damp, deep soils. Muscat is actually a family of grapes that has over 200 varieties, including Muscat Canelli (aka Muscat Blanc), Golden Muscat, Muscat Blancs ŕ Petits Grains, Muscat of Alexandria (aka Moscatel Romano), Diamond Muscat, Muscat of Datal, Early Muscat, Black Muscat (aka Muscat Hamburg), Orange Muscat, and Golden Muscat.
